What are the differences between white, milk and dark chocolate?

All we need is love and they say love keeps us healthy. It is known that chocolate and love have a close relationship. Both chocolate and love are sweet and healthy. But the question is, are all types of chocolate healthy? What is the difference between milk chocolate and white and dark chocolate?

Let’s start with the different ingredients that each type of chocolate is made of.

Chocolate is made from cocoa beans that are harvested, then ground and liquefied to become liquor. The liquid is then processed into cocoa solids and cocoa butter. The cocoa solids are what give chocolate its bitter taste. The different combinations of cocoa solids and cocoa butter with other ingredients give a variety of flavors. Dark chocolate contains the highest percentage of cocoa solids and cocoa butter of all types. The other ingredients added are sugar and cocoa bean powder. Milk chocolate contains milk powder, sugar, and a small percentage of cocoa solids and cocoa butter. The addition of milk powder and the reduction of cocoa in milk chocolate is what gives it a creamier and sweeter taste. As for white chocolate, it does not contain cocoa solids at all, just sugar, milk, and a small amount of cocoa butter.

Dark chocolate contains a minimum of 70% cocoa compared to a maximum of 35% in white chocolate. Dark chocolate melts easier than it does at room temperature.

What are the health benefits of each type?

Studies have shown that eating dark chocolate is good for health. It contains a high percentage of antioxidants that help get rid of toxins that can cause diseases. Dark chocolate is rich in epicatechin and gallic acids, which protect the heart from heart attacks. It also works as an anti-cancer, a brain stimulant, a cough suppressant and a diarrhoea. For people looking to lose weight, white chocolate is the wrong choice because it is rich in calories. On the other hand, it contains little calcium. It is the least nutritious of the three due to the complete absence of cocoa solids. As for milk chocolate, its nutritional content is higher than white chocolate due to the presence of a little cocoa in it, but it is still not so high that it is considered to have very positive effects on health.

We all know that chocolate, in general, tasty, very tasty, but even the tastiest and healthiest ones should be consumed wisely and in the right amount. White, milk and dark chocolate are all harmful if abused. Eat wisely, stay healthy, you don’t want to gain weight or get addicted to it.
